Kids have to own learning. To hold on to it, to connect it, to love it and launch from it – they do. Learning without love isn’t learning; it’s production. It’s not freedom; it’s indenture. It’s not an awakening; it’s a sedation.

Why, I wonder, do we stop seeing kids as…

This exactly!!

Violet, Violet, Violet. What is going on here?
Are those pajamas? Is that a one-piece jumper thing? Is that cheap cotton chafing your skin?
What is on your arms? Were you trying to make a temporary tattoo sleeve to match your terrible jim-jams outfit? If so, I guess it was kind of a success.
I don’t even know what to say about those shoes. Are they bowling shoes for a baby?

I know people always say that time flies and the kids grow so fast. People always say before you know it they are going off to college. Well seriously I feel like there has to be a PAUSE button somewhere. I can’t take it anymore. On one hand I am finally starting to see the light at the end of the baby tunnel. We can actually go out to dinner without a diaper bag, a sippy cup and make it through a meal without tears. No one needs help wiping and the babysitter doesn’t have to rock anyone to sleep. These are all GOOD things but the flip side..Nobody wants to be rocked to sleep. I can’t believe that my baby is getting on that bus tomorrow to go to Kindergarten. How can that be? Even worse how can my first baby be in 5th grade? SHe is so kind and beautiful..I am amazed at her. Jackson is in 3rd and actually has real schoolwork ahead of him. I worry about each of them for different reasons but inside I know we have done everything we could to make them feel loved and safe. Look out world, time is FLYING!

We have been blessed with many beautiful beach days this summer but September always hits me hard. The worst day of my year is the day I realize there are no more beach days… Hoping to get a few more in before that day comes yet again

I went to Atlanta this weekend for an Initials Inc. conference.  I NEVER thought I would do something like this but there was something telling me I had to go!  I am SO glad I went.  I love this company and am having so much fun selling these amazing products.  These two women that started this company are a testament to how people can realize their dreams and I was truly inspired by them.

I also LOVED the new catalog!  This Fall/Winter catalog is fantastic and I can’t wait to start showing people all of it!  I feel like there are big things in store for me with this little side job I signed onto a year ago!

Good times at the jersey shore!

As I sat outside on a beach chair on Friday evening watching my kids boogie board in the Atlantic I realized again how lucky we are.  Living on the Jersey Shore, our kids appreciate the ocean and all of its wonder.  I am so happy about that. As we had dinner on the beach and laughed about our week I was over come with gratitude.  In the words of Melissa Gorga “Thank You Jesus”
